​The ​Macronix management team has always observed and proposed innovative and practical actions to give back to society. Experiencing the difficult task of high tech talent incubation, Macronix aimed to alleviate this by funding and establishing the Macronix Education Foundation in 2001.

The Macronix Education Foundation was established under the authority and supervision of the Ministry of Education. Its mission is to enhance value in the knowledge economy, foster technology talent, care for the physical and mental development of children and young people, and enhance the social well-being and quality of life. Its duties include:

  • Promoting technology development
  • Providing incentives to outstanding technology talent
  • Fostering knowledge and interest in science, culture and nature among children and young people
  • Arranging nature field trips and activities related to culture, historical sites, and folk arts
  • Engaging in other public-interest educational activities consistent w​ith the founding mission of the foundation

Golden Silicon Awards

 
 

Macronix organized the first "Macronix Golden Silicon Award – The Semiconductor Design and Application Competition" event in 2000 to encourage innovative R&D among university and graduate students. Macronix continues to hold this competition with assistance from the Macronix Education Foundation to foster excellence in young people today.

In the past years, over 20​​,000 teachers and students have participated in this annual event. The Macronix Golden Silicon Awards is highly recognized as the Oscars of domestic electronic and electrical engineering related departments.​

Macronix Science Awards

 
 

In 2002, the Macronix Education Foundation set up the "Macronix Science Awards​" to encourage high school talent for scientific research, innovation and invention. With hel​p from Mei-Yin Chou, Vice President of Academia Sinica to promote the award, we have actively presented the opportunity and encouraged more than​​ 24​,000​ high school teachers and students. We hope that this investment in science can continue to cultivate this country's talent and international competitiveness.
